The town itself is fairly small, and the streets are often quite narrow and crowded. Compared to the UK, you'll find that driving here is quite different as the roads may often not have clear lane markings, are more winding, and hilly.
For the best experience, a compact SUV is recommended. Not only does it provide enough room for luggage, but the extra clearance can come handy for navigating through uneven terrain or flooded areas during the rainy season.
Free street parking is available in Quepos but getting a private parking spot could save you those extra minutes you'd spend looking for a space, especially during peak tourist season.

Strongly influenced by the Pacific Ocean and the tropical latitude, Quepos has a typical tropical climate. The dry season (popularly known as summer) spans from December to April and the wet season (equivalent to British winter) from May to November.
While Quepos is generally considered safe, like any tourist destination, occasional thefts do occur. So, it's a good idea to keep an eye on your belongings.
