Prepare for driving on the "wrong" side! As a former British colony, St. Lucia follows the UK's driving habits: it’s left-hand driving here! It might feel odd initially but you'll get used to it soon.
Speed Limits and Traffic Rules
The standard speed limit in the city area is around 50km/h whereas on highways, it's generally 80km/h. Seat belts are a must for every passenger and do remember that drink-driving rules are strict here. Watch out for 'Stop' and 'Give Way' signs which are 'Halt' and 'Cede Pass' respectively.
Parking
While parking in Castries, make sure to look for authorised parking zones. Watch out for yellow curbs which indicate "no parking".

St. Lucia’s Currency
The local currency is Eastern Caribbean Dollar (EC$), but US Dollars are widely accepted too. Cards may not be accepted everywhere, especially local markets, so keep some cash handy.
