Rent a car and explore Bristol

Bristol is the unofficial capital of the West of England. Famous for its maritime history, it also offers a wide and varied range of attractions, hotels, bars and events. Bristol occupies fourth place in England's most visited holiday destinations, and the best time to visit is in summer when major festivals are held in the city.

Although often overlooked as a tourist destination, Bristol has much to offer and is an excellent starting point for exploring the "West Country", with relatively inexpensive accommodation compared to some of the "tourist traps" such as the nearby Bath and a huge selection of bars, restaurants and shops. It is one of the most culturally vibrant cities in England and hosts a variety of fine arts, theatre, specialty shops and live music.

The public transport connection to Bristol Airport

The airport is located about 11 km southwest of downtown Bristol on the A38 motorway and can also be reached via the nearby Motorway M5. From the airport there is a direct connection to the city centre of Bristol by bus A1 and A2, operated by First, with a stop at Bristol Temple Meads station. The A4' Air Decker' line operated by Bath Bus Company connects the airport to the southern suburbs of Bristol, Keynsham and Bath. Since 2016, Stagecoach South West has operated a regular bus service from the airport to Bristol, Bridgwater, Taunton, Exeter and Plymouth.

Relaxing at Bristol Airport - The Lounges

Whatever the reason for your flight, the Aspire Lounge and AspirePlus Lounge are the perfect place to relax before taking off. Both lounges offer an oasis of peace and relaxation, with complimentary soft drinks, wines, beers and spirits. There is a selection of tempting delicacies and snacks (menus vary between lounges), as well as free Wi-Fi, newspapers and magazines.
